6 easy SEO tips for your business

Simply put - it helps your website show up higher on Google’s results pages when people are searching for terms relevant to your business.

With everyone constantly searching for things on Google and other search engines, you can get an idea of how important it is to engage in SEO if you want your business to succeed.

1. Research Keywords & Competitors

Keywords are an essential part of SEO. They’re the terms people will enter in search engines to look for relevant results. The ultimate goal is to be on the first page of results and aiming to be in that number one spot.

Picking the right keywords are going to help you do just that!

There are loads of tools out there than can help you find the best keywords to use, our favourite is Google’s Keyword Planner.

You’ll want to look for keywords that have high search volume (keywords that have many people searching for them), low competition (keywords that don’t have many results) and are of course, relevant to your business.

2. Use Keywords in the most important parts of a page

To be shown on search engine results pages (SERP) you’ll need to make it as easy as possible for the search engine to know what your website is all about. It’ll boost your ranking, and will let Google know that your content is relevant to those keyword searches.

Make sure you include your keywords in the most important parts of the page such as:

  • Page Titile
  • Meta Description (summary of a web page’s content)
  • Heading Tags
  • URL

3. Utilize Alt Text

Alt text is used to describe images on your website. They’re often overlooked, but its a really easy way to optimise your webpages.

You’ll be making it easier for search engines to know what your images are about by adding in your keywords and descriptions for all images on your website.

4. Link your webpages to each other

Internal linking is now part of SEO best practices - and its by far one of the most simple SEO tactics. Add links to other pages on your site in your blog posts, ‘about us’ page or even contact page. Just remember not to overfill your pages with too many links - keep it relevant and keep it simple!

5. Content is King

There are a number of different kinds of content you can add to your site - blog posts, articles, guides, videos, infographics - the list could go on!

Try creating content that’s going to be useful and informational for your audience.

So pick the right content for you and get started!

6. Get Social

Now that you’ve got some amazing content, share it with your audience! Also add social-sharing buttons on your website so that your audience can share it with others. This will help get your content more attention, and can help increase the chances of attracting links from other sites.
